Introducing Jack Leech, MD: A New Infectious Diseases-Critical Care Medicine (ID-CCM) Fellow

We are pleased to welcome Jack Leech, MD, a Pittsburgh native and our new Infectious Diseases and Critical Care (ID-CCM) Fellow. Dr. Leech’s journey in medicine began with undergraduate studies at The George Washington University. He  completed his medical degree and residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC. His interest in Infectious Diseases was sparked during medical school, where the broad and complex nature of the field captivated him. Dr. Leech is now part of the combined Infectious Diseases and Critical Care Program and aims to integrate both disciplines in his future practice.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Leech enjoys an active lifestyle, often found running the trails around Pittsburgh. He’s also the reigning champion of his fantasy football league, a title he’s quite proud of. At home, Dr. Leech cherishes time spent with his wife Melanie and their golden doodle, Theo.

As someone who has always called Pittsburgh home, Dr. Leech has a deep love for the city, especially when it comes to his lifelong passion for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He highly recommends catching a game at PNC Park, which he believes is the best ballpark in the country.

We are excited to have Dr. Leech in our fellowship program and look forward to the contributions he will make to the field of Infectious Diseases and Critical Care medicine.
