Trial by Pitt and UPMC Confirms Safety and Success of HIV-to-HIV Kidney Transplants

Their study, “Safety of Kidney Transplantation from Donors with HIV,” found that in kidney transplant candidates who have HIV, the safety of transplantation from donors with HIV was as safe and effective as using kidneys from donors without HIV, supporting expanded options for kidney transplantation in people with HIV.
