We are pleased to welcome Alice Chen, MD, to our Infectious Diseases fellowship program. Dr. Chen, who hails from Hudson, Ohio, began her medical journey at Northeast Ohio Medical University. She completed her residency at Summa Health in Akron, Ohio. Her interest in Infectious Diseases was sparked during her Internal Medicine clerkship, where she found a deep connection with the field while rotating on the ID service. Currently, Dr. Chen is particularly interested in Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs (ASP), although she remains open to exploring other areas within ID.
Outside of her medical career, Dr. Chen enjoys an array of hobbies, including hiking, cooking, and nurturing her collection of houseplants. She and her husband, Ty, share a love of travel, having cherished trips to Thailand and China, and they dream of embarking on an African safari in the future.
As newcomers to Pittsburgh, Dr. Chen and her husband have been delighting in the city’s dynamic food scene and are eager to continue exploring the diverse culinary offerings. They also look forward to discovering the beauty of the surrounding parks, making the most of their time in this vibrant city.
We are excited to see Dr. Chen thrive in our fellowship program and look forward to the expertise and enthusiasm she will bring to our team.
