We are excited to introduce Nouf K. Almaghlouth, MD, MPH, who has recently joined our team as a Transplant Infectious Diseases (TID) Fellow. Hailing from the vibrant city of Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, Dr. Almaghlouth embarked on her medical journey at the University of Dammam. Her residency took her to Las Cruces, New Mexico, at MountainView Regional Medical Center, affiliated with New Mexico State University. Following her residency, Dr. Almaghlouth pursued an Infectious Diseases fellowship at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
Dr. Almaghlouth’s commitment to Transplant Infectious Diseases is driven by a desire to specialize in the care of patients with solid organ transplants, immunocompromised hosts, and those undergoing hematopoietic cell transplants. She is particularly interested in the challenges posed by opportunistic infections, invasive fungal diseases, and resistant organisms. Dr. Almaghlouth is also passionate about advancing clinical management through the use of advanced diagnostic tools, including clinical microbiology and molecular diagnostics.
Beyond her medical pursuits, Dr. Almaghlouth is an avid hiker who enjoys exploring new places and embracing the beauty of nature. She is also a culinary enthusiast, delighting in cooking recipes from around the world, and she has a deep appreciation for different cultures and histories. Since arriving in Pittsburgh, she has been captivated by the city’s scenic views from Mount Washington, the tranquility of Phipps Conservatory, and the vibrant energy of the Strip District.
We are honored to have Dr. Almaghlouth join our fellowship program and look forward to the contributions she will make to the field of Transplant Infectious Diseases.
