We’re ready for our close-up!
The University of Pittsburgh Clinical Research Site for the HVTN has been selected as one of the pioneering sites for a social media study, focused on HIV prevention. Our dedicated clinic and ID staff, along with passionate community members, recently came together for a professional video shoot right in downtown Pittsburgh. Here’s your exclusive behind-the-scenes peek into the making of a brand new social media campaign!
What’s the Study About?
We’re diving into how enhanced community engagement and communication support can significantly boost recruitment for phase 1 HIV prevention studies. Our goal? To ensure that marginalized communities, who are disproportionately affected by HIV, have increased access to early-stage preventive HIV vaccine trials.
How Are We Doing It?
We’re harnessing community-based participatory research methods, drawing from our experiences in battling COVID-19. Together, we’re refining, testing, and evaluating an innovative media campaign alongside developing a dynamic communication strategy. Our aim is to dismantle misinformation about vaccines and vaccine trials while amplifying accurate information where it’s needed most.
