Daria Van Tyne, PhD, and Ghady Haidar, MD, Present at the Department of Medicine’s Grand Rounds, Bench to Bedside series

Bacteriophages are among the myriad of bugs we investigate here at Pitt ID. Recently, Daria Van Tyne, PhD, and Ghady Haidar, MD, were invited to speak at the Department of Medicine’s Grand Rounds, Bench to Bedside series. Their lecture, titled, “Bacteriophage: The Next Generation of Antimicrobial Agents,” was presented on January 23rd, 2024.

Phage therapy is a promising novel therapeutic treatment against antimicrobial resistant pathogens. Dr. Van Tyne, along with others in our division, recently published an article in mBio, titled, “Bacteriophage and antibiotic combination therapy  for recurrent Enterococcus faecium bacteremia.” That paper is out ahead of print and published today!

Congratulations on this achievement!
