Alex Trzebucki, MD, has been appointed Associate Medical Director for Clinical Operations and Quality with the Tele-ID program at Infectious Disease (ID) Connect and as a member of the UPMC System Infectious Diseases Clinical Quality Committee effective July 1, 2023.
Dr. Trzebucki earned his B.S. degree in Biology from Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina, and his M.D. from New York Medical College before completing his Internal Medicine residency training at Stanford University Medical Center. He pursued his Infectious Diseases fellowship training at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine.
Dr. Trzebucki joined the Infectious Diseases Division at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor in 2020 supporting the Tele-ID and Tele-Stewardship service and rounding on the General and Surgical ID services. He has particular interest in telemedicine solutions, antimicrobial and diagnostic stewardship, next generation rapid molecular diagnostics, and ID quality improvement. He has led antimicrobial stewardship solutions across ID Connect clinical sites since 2020 and collaborated on the development of Ilum software innovations. Dr. Trzebucki was an invited speaker at the World Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR) Congress in 2021 and at IDWeek 2022 Stewardship Best Practice Symposium.
