Marianne Driscoll – Receives UPMC Award for Commitment and Excellence In Service (ACES) for 2023

Marianne Driscoll has received UPMC’s Award for Commitment and Excellence in Service (ACES). The ACES Award honors staff whose everyday actions, and in some instances, personal acts of courage and compassion exceed the high level of service that the community has come to expect from UPMC. Each year, less than one percent of UPMC staff from across the health system receives this honor.

Marianne is the Senior Administrative Assistant with the ID Division, having started with UPMC in June 2016 as a “floater” assigned to our Division. Her role includes a multitude of complex tasks: coordination of patient scheduling; physician template creation in collaboration with the Central Call Center; keeping ahead of the nuances of in-person and telemedicine appointments as well as the many physicians who support outpatient operations; managing countless customer relationship messages; and, reviewing endless reports to troubleshoot issues. Marianne also mentors a University of Pittsburgh student who has been able to provide some much-needed support when Marianne’s coworker transferred elsewhere in the system last year. In her free time, Marianne moonlights as a hospital greeter and has supported COVID vaccine pop-up clinics that took place when the first vaccines were deployed.

Embodying the UPMC values of “Caring & Listening” and “Responsibility & Integrity,” Marianne performs her many roles with enthusiasm and professionalism. She is attentive to detail and no matter how busy she is, she has a smile, a contagious laugh, and an attitude of flexibility. Her devotion to patient needs as well as to her colleagues is exceptional.

Congratulations, Marianne, on this well-deserved honor. Thank you for your hard work and dedication!
